The Novella is assembled panel by panel from kiln fired stained glass using traditional leading techniques, which is why no two examples come out identical. Kiln firing sets the colour into the glass itself rather than applying it to the surface, so the panels hold their depth and do not fade or peel with sustained exposure to heat from the bulb or to daylight from a nearby window.

The stacked book silhouette means the lamp reads as an object even when it is switched off, which is what separates it from a plain shade on a base. Switched on, the textured glass breaks the light into coloured facets and diffuses it outward at low level, giving a warm ambient glow suited to a corner rather than a harsh task light aimed at a page.

It runs from a standard mains plug, supplied to suit your region, so there is no wiring, no assembly and no fitted transformer to accommodate.
