The square black die-cast aluminium frame resists rust, and the frosted acrylic shade spreads the light evenly so the post glows rather than glares. With eight sizes across the two versions, it is easy to match the light to the width of your pillar. The simple square profile works on brick, stone and rendered pillars alike.

Choose the solar version for a wire-free fit. Its 4400mAh battery charges in four to six hours of sun and gives eight to twelve hours of light, and you can switch between warm, neutral and cool white to suit the setting. The hardwired version gives a steady 3000K warm white glow every night and uses a standard E27 lamp holder, so the bulb is easy to replace.

Both versions carry an IP54 rating against dust and rain for year-round outdoor use. Fit the Allendale to driveway gate posts, garden entrances, low boundary walls or path pillars for a welcoming, well-lit approach to the house. Measure the top of your pillar before choosing a size. Hardwired fittings should be installed by a qualified electrician. Several lights of the same size along a boundary wall give a smart, consistent run of light.
