The Corbridge solar step lights make steps, decks and paths safer after dark without any wiring. Each compact black light has its own solar panel and battery, and a built-in dusk to dawn sensor switches it on as the light fades and off again in the morning, so once they are fitted there is nothing more to do. Each light measures around 7 × 4 × 7.5 cm, so it fits neatly on a riser, post or fence rail.

This listing is for eight lights, supplied as two packs of four, which is enough to light a typical flight of garden steps or run along a fence line. The amorphous silicon panels charge through the day, and after around eight hours of sun the lights give eight to ten hours of soft warm white light. The sealed body copes with rain, so they can stay out all year.

Fit them with the screws provided for a permanent fixing, or use the adhesive pads for a quick, drill-free option on smooth surfaces. They suit stairs, decking, fences, raised beds, planters and garden walls, and anywhere that gets direct sunlight for most of the day.
